Opti CoQ10 general information
What is Opti CoQ10 used for?
Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg are a dietary supplement used to increase the levels of a naturally occurring vitamin-like coenzyme known as Coenzyme Q10 that is a powerful antioxidant and also has several known benefits. Aging, illness and some medications reduce the production of Coenzyme Q10 and Opti CoQ10 capsules can help restore levels to improve, health and wellbeing. Opti CoQ10 capsules are thought to support cardiovascular health, brain function, treatment for type-2 diabetes and male fertility; also improve metabolic energy production under conditions of ill health and stress. Supplementation with Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg may be considered for low energy, weakness and fatigue, cardiovascular condition or depressed immune function; also for healthy aging.
How does Opti CoQ10 work?
Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg contain Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiquinone and ubidecarenone), a naturally-occurring lipid-soluble coenzyme, synthesised in the liver and found in most cells of the body in the mitochondrial membranes, which is where energy is generated in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). It is found in highest concentrations in tissues with high energy turnover such as the heart, brain, liver and kidney. Coenzyme Q10 in Opti CoQ10 capsules works by acting as an electron and proton carrier in aerobic (oxidative) cellular respiration and is required for synthesis of ATP for generation of biological energy needed for normal cell function1. It is also a powerful antioxidant and works by scavenging free radicals and inhibiting lipid peroxidation, reducing oxidation of LDL (low density lipoprotein or “bad” cholesterol), protecting cell membranes from free radicle induced oxidative damage1, 2. Oxidative stress is linked to the pathogenesis of many health conditions, including diabetes, coronary arterial disease (CAD) and congestive heart failure (CHF)2. Also oxidative stress combined with reduced antioxidant and impaired sperm mitochondrial function are key factors in male infertility and supplementation with Coenzyme Q10 has been found to contribute to improvements in male fertility2. Low levels of Coenzyme Q10 have been found in certain conditions including some neurodegenerative disorders and cardiovascular diseases. Clinical studies have shown that levels of Coenzyme Q10 are depleted in both the blood and heart muscle of patients with CHF and that supplementation with Coenzyme Q10 provided some clinical benefit2. Supplementation with Coenzyme Q10 may help protect against low levels and thereby may have cardioprotective properties and ameliorate the progression of some conditions including CAD, CHD and some neurodegenerative disorders like Huntington’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease2, 3, 4, 5. Some medications, particularly statins (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors), a standard treatment for lowering high cholesterol levels, reduce levels of coenzyme Q10 by interfering with its biosynthesis. It is thought that supplementation with coenzyme Q10 may be beneficial in patients receiving statin therapy2, 6. Periodontal disease is an inflammatory disease of the gums and is also associated with cell damage cause by free radicle production. Coenzyme Q10 has been found to reduce inflammation in the gums and slow progression of the disease2. The production of Coenzyme Q10 is reduced with age, leading to the association of a decline in Coenzyme Q10 levels with degenerative changes of aging. It is suggested that supplementation with coenzyme Q10 may enhance health during aging2, 7. Since Coenzyme Q10 has low bioavailability (which means that only a small proportion of supplement taken is actually available for use by the body), fish oil is used to provide an emulsion which improves the absorption of Coenzyme Q10 and therefore increases bioavailability8. Supplementation with Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg has the potential to provide health benefits for several health conditions and promote good health during the aging process.
What does Opti CoQ10 contain?
Opti CoQ10 capsules contains the active ingredients Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiquinone and ubidecarenone) (75mg), Natural fish oil (300mg) containing docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) (36mg) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) (54mg).
Opti CoQ10 for cardiovascular support
Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg contain Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiquinone and ubidecarenone), a naturally-occurring vitamin-like coenzyme that plays a vital role in generation of cellular energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and is also a powerful antioxidant. Coenzyme Q10 is found in the membranes of the mitochondria, which are the subcellular organelles responsible for energy production1. Cell damage caused by oxidative stress is linked to the pathogenesis of many health conditions, including cardiovascular disease. Clinical evidence has shown low levels of Coenzyme Q10 are found in patients with heart disease, particularly coronary arterial disease (CAD) and congestive heart failure (CHF) and that supplementation can improve certain measures of the disease2, 3, 4, 5. Supplementation with Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg has the potential to provide health benefits for cardiovascular disease.
Opti CoQ10 for neurological support
Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg contain Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiquinone and ubidecarenone), a naturally-occurring vitamin-like coenzyme that plays a vital role in generation of cellular energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and is also a powerful antioxidant. Coenzyme Q10 is found in the membranes of the mitochondria, which are the subcellular organelles responsible for energy production1. Impaired mitochondrial function and cell damage caused by oxidative stress is linked to the pathogenesis of many health conditions, including neurodegenerative disorders like Huntington’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease. Also low levels of Coenzyme Q10 have been found associated with neurological disorders and also with the natural aging process. Some clinical evidence suggests that supplementation with Coenzyme Q10 may ameliorate the neurodegenerative process and be neuroprotective in some neurodegenerative conditions by protecting against oxidative damage by free radicles2, 7. Supplementation with Opti CoQ10 capsules 75mg has the potential to provide health benefits for several health conditions and promote good health during the aging process.
