Imaglow general information

What is Imaglow used for?

Imaglow tablets are a nutritional supplement for skin care that is taken orally to improve basic appearance and quality of skin, nails and hair, by hydrating and nourishing the skin from within.  Imaglow tablets can be used to manage the effects of sun-damage and the first signs of aging, including loss of moisture in the skin and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, by providing essential nutrients, improving moisture balance and protecting the structure of the skin from sun damage and helping maintain skin elasticity, firmness and resilience.  Imaglow tablets are taken orally, which ensures that nutrients essential for moisturising, nourishing and protecting the skin are delivered via the bloodstream to the skin cells.

How does Imaglow work?

Imaglow tablets contain a combination of natural ingredients including marine collagen, a fibrous protein sourced from the natural collagen of deep sea fish, that is an important component of the supporting structure of skin and also has hydrating properties to help prevent dry skin1,2.  Collagen and elastin are important structural proteins in the dermis (middle layer of skin) that provide the skin with support and elasticity.  Imaglow tablets also contain several antioxidants that help protect the skin from sun damage.  These antioxidants include, an extract of grape seeds (vitis vinifera)3, which is rich in procyanidins, known to have potent antioxidant properties; also vitamin C and zinc.  The Vitamin C component of Imaglow tablets helps protect the structure of skin and is also involved in collagen synthesis.  Vitamin C has also been found to promote skin regeneration and wound healing after damage by stimulating skin cells to grow and migrate; also by helping skin cells repair the effects of sun damage on their DNA1.  Zinc also has healing properties in the skin, by promoting proliferation of skin cells (keratinocytes).  Studies on skin cells in tissue culture, grown as 3-dimentional skin equivalent, have shown that when supplemented with a nutrient complex containing grape seed extract, sodium ascorbate, zinc gluconate and a marine extract, skin cells survived longer and were stimulated to proliferate and grow; also to produce collagen and other structural skin proteins and can improve the lifespan and structure of skin3,4.  Imaglow tablets also contain colloidal silica, which is found in connective tissue and is an important component of the matrix of skin; it also contributes to collagen formation5.  Imaglow tablets also contain an extract made from the seeds of the wildflower Oenothera commonly known as the Evening Primrose, named for the yellow flowers that bloom in the evening.  They are a rich source of the polyunsaturated essential fatty acids linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), omega-6 fatty acid, which are important precursors for making certain prostaglandins that play a role in regulating the immune system and preventing the formation of inflammatory prostaglandins.  Evening Primrose Oil contributes to nourishing dry skin and helps prevent inflammation of the skin that occurs in dermatitis and eczema6.  The combination of these key ingredients in Imaglow tablets helps maintain skin elasticity, firmness and resilience by enhancing collagen and elastin production, protecting against free radical damage, aiding moisture retention and helping aid skin renewal and regeneration.
