General information
What is Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly used for?
Tadarise-20 is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) — a condition in which a man has difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection firm enough for sexual activity.
Tadalafil increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation by relaxing blood vessels. This helps achieve and maintain an erection. It does not increase sexual desire.
How does Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly work?
Tadalafil is the active ingredient in Tadarise-20 and belongs to a class of drugs known as PDE5 inhibitors. It works by relaxing blood vessels in the penis, enhancing blood circulation during sexual arousal. It begins working within 15–30 minutes and the effects can last for up to 36 hours.
- Enhances blood flow to the penis:
Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. During sexual stimulation, the body releases nitric oxide (NO) in the penis, which activates an enzyme called guanylate cyclase. This increases the levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) — a chemical that relaxes the smooth muscles in the blood vessel walls.
- Muscle relaxation and vasodilation:
Relaxation of these muscles allows more blood to flow into the erectile tissue (corpora cavernosa), producing and maintaining an erection.
- Blocking PDE5 enzyme:
Normally, PDE5 breaks down cGMP, ending the erection. Tadalafil blocks PDE5, allowing cGMP to last longer, which means a stronger and longer-lasting erection when sexually stimulated.
What does Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly contain?
Tadarise-20 contains tadalafil as its active ingredient (20 mg per dose)
What are the side effects of Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly?
Mild side effects may include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, dizziness, or indigestion. These are usually temporary. Seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, vision changes, or prolonged erections lasting more than 4 hours.
When should Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly not be used?
- For use by adult men only (18 years and older).
- Not recommended for individuals with heart disease, severe liver or kidney problems, or those taking nitrates for chest pain.
- Consult your Doctor or healthcare provider before use, especially if taking medications for blood pressure or other health conditions.
What medications interact with Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly?
Major interactions (should generally be avoided)
- Nitrates (e.g. nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate/dinitrate, other organic nitrates) — combining tadalafil with nitrates can cause severe, life-threatening hypotension (very low blood pressure).
- Riociguat — co-administration is contraindicated because of risk of excessive hypotension.
- Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors — these can raise tadalafil levels significantly, increasing risk of adverse effects. Examples include ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, indinavir, clarithromycin, erythromycin (especially strong inhibitors)
- Other erectile dysfunction (ED) drugs / PDE5 inhibitors — using multiple such agents together increases risks without significant additional benefit.
Moderate interactions (use with caution or dose adjustments)
- Alpha-blockers (e.g. tamsulosin, doxazosin) — combined use can lead to additive blood pressure lowering; monitor for symptomatic hypotension.
- Other antihypertensives — possible additive hypotensive effect (e.g. beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers) — generally tolerable, but monitoring is needed.
- CYP3A4 inducers (e.g. carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampin) — may reduce plasma levels of tadalafil, making it less effective.
- Alcohol — may potentiate the hypotensive effects (dizziness, fainting) of tadalafil.
- Grapefruit / grapefruit juice — may inhibit CYP3A4, raising tadalafil levels and risk of side effects.
Other considerations & minor interactions
- Some antidepressants (e.g. tricyclic antidepressants) — there is risk of hypotension when combined.
- Drugs affecting hemodynamics or vasodilation — be cautious with medications that independently lower blood pressure.
- In patients with liver or kidney impairment, drug levels may be altered; dose adjustment or caution may be necessary.
How should Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly be taken?
- Tadarise-20 is in single-use sachet and are available in assorted fruit flavours.
- Consume the contents of one sachet about 30 minutes before sexual activity.
- Do not take more than one sachet in 24 hours.
- The jelly can be taken with or without food, but avoid high-fat meals or excessive alcohol, as these may delay its effects.
Missed dose of Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly
Tadarise-20 is usually taken as needed before sexual activity, not on a strict daily schedule. So, if you miss a dose, you generally don't need to "make it up" later.
Don't double up: Never take two doses at once to compensate for a missed one. This can increase the risk of side effects like headache, dizziness, or low blood pressure.
Take when needed: Simply take the jelly when you plan to engage in sexual activity, ideally 30–60 minutes beforehand. It doesn't need to be taken daily unless prescribed that way by your doctor.
If your doctor has prescribed it on a regular schedule (e.g., for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia), then missing a dose might require different guidance. In that case, it is best to consult your Doctor or Healthcare provider.
How should Tadarise-20 Oral Jelly be stored?
Store below 30°C, in a cool dry place, away from sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
